Today, we needed to make our way back to Fes again which meant we would need to relive our 4hr30 bus journey. Strategically, Friday is a holy/feast day so many things were closed anyway. After breakfast, we took one last dash around the streets for some videos we missed and the streets were much quieter today.

Having checked out and got our newly washed clothes back, we hung about our Riad before we headed off to the bus station. Our plan was to get a taxi but with it being a Friday, and the already small number of taxis here anyway, we ended up walking to the bus station, much to the dissatisfaction of Anna. At least it was only 20 minutes and downhill.

For some reason, I was quite nervous about this last bus journey. I knew we would be hopping on the 7hr bus from Tangier to Fes and that somebody was probably in our seats. My instinct was right but once they saw my sweaty face, they knew not to mess with me and moved. I could now relax knowing that our holiday has really started. Although still a week left, it was the end of public transport for us - no more trains, buses or taxis.

We knew our way around Fes so it was only a short walk to our hotel this evening. Hotel Royal - Urban Concept was like a hostel mixed with a hotel. It’s a strange setup but all you needed for an overnight stay.

As we hadn’t eaten since breakfast, after we had settled and showered off our travel sweat, we walked to Restaurant Lounge Le Bureau, a cool little restaurant that Anna found.

Unfortunately, Anna wasn’t feeling 100% and the traditional Moroccan karaoke music in the restaurant wasn’t helping. Time for bed and to get ready for the morning!
As things go, it was a fairly uneventful travel day for once - not that we’re complaining!
