Just before leaving our villa this morning, disaster struck as my nose started bleeding. I have no idea why this happens sometimes but based on history, this wouldn’t be the last.

Breakfast was served in a different garden this morning, but again, we were treated like royalty and served with another huge breakfast - at least this time they had berber pizza. I’m not sure what was in it but I made sure to finish that plate.

It was to be a 6 or 7hr journey to Marrakech and our final hotel of our travels. Our only place of interest on this journey was Ait Ben Haddou, famous for its roles in movies such as Gladiator, Indiana Jones and Lawrence of Arabia.

Before dropping us off, Hassan had asked Anna if one of her parents were Chinese due to her small eyes. When she had said no, he replied that maybe all the sleeping had caused her eyes to become smaller - actually not the worst theory in the world, Anna does love her sleep.

We said our goodbye’s to Hassan and our hello’s to 2Ciels Hotel Marrakech. Our final hotel had a rooftop bar and so it was to be our first visit after we had been welcomed to our room. It was a quirky hotel and one that had mastered the art of fine detailing. Everything was well furnished and polished, but it also had enough nooks and crannies with interesting ornaments and decor.

Unfortunately, my nose decided the pool needed a hint of red colouring when I was lounging in the pool. Although I managed to keep the blood out of the water, it looked like I had just gone twelve rounds with a professional boxer. We had spent enough time on the roof anyway so it was time to leave and get cleaned up, ready for dinner.
We followed the road towards a busy area where we were certain we could find somewhere to eat.

As we passed McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut, we eventually came across a nice restaurant for dinner. Used to the heat, we even sat outside like the locals - no air-con for us thanks!
The bar and restaurant in our hotel was actually amazing, just a shame it was all seafood - not our favourite. We thought we would sit on our comfy seats and enjoy a bottle of wine as we slipped into holiday mode instead of adventure mode. However, it wasn’t to last as an ignorant man beside us kept harassing the waiters about something. My basic French told me he was annoyed that dinner service had stopped so early but every time a waiter came to top up our glasses, it would be the same argument over our table.

Eventually, we moved outside beside the downstairs pool before retiring to our room to sleep in what was such a comfortable bed. It was honestly like a cloud.
