Day 9 - Glamping in Busselton

We had another lazy morning. Chilled in Aoife’s and then had some avocado toast for brekkie. Today we are heading down south for 5 nights. We were originally planning on heading straight to Margaret River for 4 nights but booked to stay in Busselton last minute to break up the journey slightly.

It took us around 2 and a half hours to drive to Busselton. Louis and Aoife took it in turns to drive while I dozed, wrote my blog (which I’m sure you’ll all be very aware by now that I like to take my time with) and listened to the unreal Australian radio. It’s all the old school tracks. Louis really enjoyed listening to Aoife and I ‘sing’ for him the whole journey….

Our accommodation was a glamping tent and I felt like I was in a campsite in France, just like my holidays as a child. The tent was roasting when we arrived so we blasted the AC and went to the play park and FaceTimed home. Alexander loved the swing. We will have to get one for him at home.

Aoife and I then took Alexander for a dip in the pool and while we did this, Louis went to the shop to try and get a disposable BBQ for tonight. No luck though so we just had to use the communal one onsite. It actually wasn’t that bad but I’m just a bit funny about cooking on stuff others have used and using shared utensils. You never know how well the person before cleaned it. They might have used a bowl for crisps…If you know, you know.

Aoife cooked the BBQ, I made the side salads and Louis made sure tonight’s wine was chilled and tasted good. After a competitive game of UNO and a bottle of wine, we all jumped into bed and prayed that the tent doesn’t overheat during the night and we don’t get midgey bites. We are pretty juicy!
