Day 7

It was another lazy morning for us. You know the score by now, towels out and then straight for breakfast. I’ve stopped having my usual potatoes and beans and prefer to have some fruit and yogurt now…… skinnnnnnny! Louis is still devouring 2 plates at breakfast. Really strange though because with all the usual cooked breakfast dishes they also serve carrots, which Louis has now also added to his plate. Our bodies must be craving something more healthy.

We changed beds after a while as we ended up in the shade and Louis was cold….annoyingly I started getting my prickly heat on my chest and arms. It’s the most frustrating thing ever. Please someone tell me a cure!?

After a cold shower in the room to try and relieve the itchiness we went for lunch. I had booked myself in for a massage as a wee treat, aren’t I good to myself. I left Louis poolside to sort out car rental for next week and headed down to the spa.

I had booked in for a back and neck massage but the masseuse ended up giving me the whole works. Feet, legs, arms.. it was pure bliss. It honestly was the best massage I have ever had. She told me my skin was dehydrated and I needed to eat more fruit and veg and drink more water. Is she mad…that would take serious will power with unlimited food and drinks bring supplied upstairs.

After the massage I returned to Louis who was waiting by the pool eagerly. Wee cutie isn’t he. To rehydrate the skin we both sipped on our go-to drink here in Crete, Malibu and pure orange before heading to the beach for some fun in the waves.

I was so excited for an hour of constantly diving into crashing waves. It is hands down the best activity to do at the beach, apart from the sheer panic when you’re hit by a big one and you lose your orientation and have to wipe your eyes before you get slammed in the face by the next one. Anyway, when we arrived, we did wonder why know one else was really out in the sea. Losers. After about 10 mins of being tossed and tumbled about, losing both my bikini top and bottoms, the life guard whistled us in and said it was too dangerous. As fun as it was, it definitely undid any of the goodness from the massage. At least we both got a free exfoliation treatment.

Back to the hotel for a shower to wash all the sand from our unmentionables and chill out before dinner and drinks. We watched some more of The Interview which we had started in bed the night before. Louis enjoyed the multiple Lord of the Rings quotes, which he continued to say for the rest of the evening. Lucky me.

Yet again, another big feed for dinner and out to the bar for our favourite front row seats for tonight’s entertainment – Duetmissions. I really enjoyed their song choices. However, Louis got frustrated as they didn’t finish any of their songs with proper cadences. For those less musically talented, a bit like myself.. it’s like leaving out the final note from a piece of music. The one that gives the audience a clear ending. How annoying of _____.
