Day 6 - Hometime

It was our final breakfast in HM Ayron and I don't know how I'm going to cope at home without a feast each morning. I've had a hotel breakfast now for almost 2 weeks straight - a slice of toast in the morning will have to do me when we get home. After packing and making sure we didn’t leave anything behind, we checked out and thought about what to do for the rest of the day. Our flight wasn’t until 6.30 so we had some time to kill.

Just our luck, today was supposed to have the best weather in Mallorca all week so we took time to visit the beach and watched a tractor haphazardly navigate through the sunbathers as they put sun-lounger posts in the ground in preparation for the summer season. No health and safety here!

Dino world was still on our doorstep and it would have been rude not to play another course. Of course I wanted some revenge too. We played off the hard tees and this time it was me that won! Winning by 3 shots, I also got a hole in 1 on the 17th to enjoy walking down the 18th.

Anna had been eyeing up a little Italian restaurant on the promenade all week so we headed there for lunch. One of the strangest places we have ever had lunch, it was also the saltiest pasta in the world. Anna’s pasta was truly a bowl of salt with strands of pasta and even I couldn’t help her finish it. To be fair, the reviews on trip advisor did warn us - we should have checked.

It was getting warmer and warmer each hour so we headed back to the cool lobby of the hotel, get our bags and order an uber. Anna even managed to squeeze in a nap.

Our tinted black Mercedes van arrived to take us to the airport - I swear I just ordered a normal comfort taxi, but we got the executive - the Spanish know how to treat their VIP’s. The whole airport experience was actually straight forward. The place was huge and by the time we checked in bags, passed through security and immigration, we didn’t have time to wait until we boarded. By the way we didn't take any photos in the airport so enjoy this one...

Despite our app saying it was delayed, everything was going well and we were on the plane ready to go. The only downside was that the really annoying American woman who stayed in the same hotel as us was 2 rows in front of us on the plane. Thank goodness for earphones.

With a storm brewing over Europe and really bad weather at home, we were stuck on the tarmac for another 30 minutes before we finally jetted off into the sky, Somehow, the pilot managed to reduce our delay to only about 30 minutes in total, but more impressively, Anna managed to watch a whole movie on the plane without falling asleep.

We landed and managed to get off the plane, get our bags and hop on to the transfer bus to go get our car in the car park in about 15 minutes total. The bus driver even asked us how we got out so quick and took us straight away instead of waiting. Who knew, even the Belfast lot know how to treat us VIP’s now too!

Our holiday had ended and Louis is back to work tomorrow morning but before going straight to bed, we had to collect our little Pippin who has had her own little holiday herself. Back home safe - thanks Mallorca!
