Day 6 – Going home

It was an early start as we needed to pack and check out by 8am. We walked to the train station to get our train to Pisa. I was so surprised how many people were up and about. There were loads of students, I think they might have school on Saturday morning. Poor them!

On the train I slept while Louis worked on his laptop. When we arrived in Pisa, we had to change to an airport shuttle train which took us directly to the terminal. In the airport, we got breakfast. Louis had some pizza and I got a tomato and mozzarella baguette.

In true Anna and Louis style, our journey home wasn’t just one simple flight. Our first flight was from Pisa to London Luton were we went to Bella Italia for … yep you’ve guessed it… more pizza, pasta, Prosecco and Gin. Our next flight from London Luton to Belfast was delayed by 45mins… classic, so we were behind schedule when we eventually landed in Belfast after a bumpy flight.

At the airport we were greeted by my brother Matthew and his girlfriend Kate who had a bottle of bubbles and flowers for us. They were coming down to L’derry for the night as we were having a small family celebration at mine. We arrived back at the house as everyone was arriving so we had less than one minute to spray on some deodorant and change.

The rest of the evening was spent drinking, popping champagne and catching up with them all. It really was a great way to celebrate a special trip! Operation wedding planning has officially commenced!
