Day 6

It was an early start today as it was a Sunday in Syntopia Hotel, and rumours have it that there is a DJ by the pool on Sunday’s. Although they hadn’t mentioned it to me yet, I thought DJ Fieldmouse would need to be on hand to jump in and hype up the crowd, or failing that, complain to Anna all day about how bad DJ he is. With our canopy beds reserved with towels, we were set up for the day.

In the grand scheme of things, it was a lazy Gin and Travel day today, sorry fans. However, Anna did notice that some of the staff were fighting over who got to look after our table at breakfast. I thought it was either because we’re so lucky to look after, or that they wanted to see how much I could actually eat (more on this later).

After our classic breakfast in the restaurant, Anns preceded to write the blog for about 2 hours as I lay waiting for the bar to open at 10.30am…legend. To my disappointment, Aperol spritz was only being served from 5.30pm today. That’s a long wait! Malibu and orange until then it is.

I’m not too sure if back home are still enjoying the amazing weather but they certainly had a better day than us today. The blue sky had been covered in white clouds and the wind had picked up. The overcast conditions made the pool freezing and not in the usual refreshing way and the wind even knocked over our drinks at lunch, causing a scene..nobody wants that.
You probably guessed it was coming, but even the DJ failed to lift the spirits if everyone. He did look very cool though, like the old 007 Pierce Brosnan undercover in his silk white shirt.

I went back to the room while Anna, the little book worm she is, sat and read a few more chapters of her book. I enjoyed a warm shower and sheltered from the elements from our room, of course it wasn’t long until Anna returned to get ready for dinner again tonight. During breakfast and dinner, we sat near a girl who I thought was mad Jessica from Love is Blind. It wasn’t, although Anna did find out from Instagram that she is also on her honeymoon and only married a few days ago too! Maybe we could be honeymoon couple friends!

To pick up our moods, well really mine, it was time for some ouzo. When we visited Naxos many moons ago, Ouzo was rocket fuel and really made an impact. It did the same tonight, although Anna was nearly sick at the smell of it.

It was back to our European themed food and we were both in heaven. Pasta, Pizza, Spaghetti, all our favs. After watching what I eat, Anna was setting targets and after a bit of back and forth, Anna was so sure that I couldn’t eat 4 12”Margherita pizza’s. I thought I could definitely eat 5 in an hour.

As we swung in the hammock by the pool, we waited until you all had your say. I can say it was a convincing win on my part. 35 votes to yes and only 3 for no – shame on you Kate, Rory and Anna. I suppose the next thing is to prove it now as Anna still doesn’t believe it so keep an eye out for some pizza eating next week!

Not the most entertaining day of our travels, but I was happy going to bed thinking about pizza. After all, what sort of person doesn’t love pizza? A weirddough!
