We all enjoyed a lie in this morning, some more than others. I got up at 10am, had a cup of tea and wrote my blog for the day, while Louis and Alexander slept in to 11:30am.

We skipped breakfast, got ready and headed out to ‘The Shorehouse’ for lunch. This place was lovely, a real holiday vibe! They even had a huge copper bath filled with wines.

After lunch, we went to the beach. This time we brought Alexander’s blow up bath and filled it with water so he could sit and play in it, kept him cool and out of the waves. He seemed to enjoy this beach experience much better.

The sun had moved slightly so Louis asked me to move the parasol. It was too difficult and also not really necessary so after a try, I gave up. Louis then tried but as he removed the parasol from the ground, a strong gust of wind pulled him backwards and he fell into Alexander’s water bath, emptying the water all over our bags and he was stuck on his back with his legs in the air. All that so Alexander’s right toe would be out of the sun.

After a couple of hours at the beach, we headed back to Aoife’s to get showered and ready for the big Fish Raffle. Aoife has been ranting on about how fun this fish raffle is since we booked our flights and said it was ‘a must’ when we were here. We left extra early to ensure we got seats and raffle tickets.

The pub looked like an Irish pub, with lots of trinkets hanging from the roof. A huge fish also hung at the front and the raffle wheel stood beside it. We had a few drinks and waited for the big event.

You’ll never guess what, Aoife won the fish. What are the chances! It must have been ‘luck of the Irish’ because Louis also won a bottle of wine with his ticket. As the winner of the fish, Aoife had to wear a blue sash - wish it was orange - got a plate of seafood to eat as the fish would be collected another day and she also got an invite to their annual Fish Ball. Her dreams had come true.

While we celebrated, Louis had a work call which he took very professionally from outside the pub. We then all headed for dinner with Aoife’s friends. Aoife looked like she had just won 6 rounds against Anthony Joshua walking into the restaurant with her sash!

Dinner was delish - lots of breads and sharing plates but it ended abruptly as we all has to dash for the last train home before the bus replacements started again.

This time we made the train and ended our night, like most, on the sofa, with a cuppa tea, Irish dairy milk and some Married at First Sight.
