We had a little lie in this morning and then headed to a local sports club to play some padel. Again, some of Aoife’s friends came to join us and we played a few double matches. The game is actually really fun but the sun was heating up and our court time was running out so after one final match we headed for Brunch in Cottesloe.

After brunch, Aoife introduced us to her favourite clothes shop, ‘Gandi’. Surprisingly I didn’t get anything, but Louis did! A short sleeved striped shirt.. you’ll be able to spot it in pictures later. As a keen F1 fan, Louis was also was star struck when he spotted Daniel Ricciardo out having brunch too. I must admit, I kind of like F1 too, but mostly only for the start and then falling asleep on the sofa for a Sunday snooze to the repetitive sound of the zooming cars.

When we got back to the apartment, Louis and Alexander stayed and played in the shade while Aoife and I headed to the pool. Aoife is currently in training for a big swim from Perth to Rottnest Island (the place we visited yesterday). We did some lengths, caught some rays and then headed back to find Alexander sound asleep on the sofa. He was obviously making the most of the AC.

Later in the afternoon, Aoife had a Skype job interview (which she was successful in, woop woop) so while she had that, we headed to the shop to get stuff for dinner tonight. It was our turn to cook so of course pasta was on the menu!

At the supermarket, Louis was taken aback by the scanners that were able to identify what fruit/vegetable you were buying so when you’re weighing and scanning it, it automatically comes up. Easily amused.

We headed back to Cottesloe to play bowls and watched the sunset. The club bar was just your typical sports bar with a few grubby men, doing a loud, revolting burp after every sip of beer. The view outside made up for it though and for a split second I thought wow, maybe this is my new sport. I quickly realised that if it wasn’t for the view and a glass of wine, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much.

After a few lengths, we headed home and Louis made us bruschetta for starter before I made a vegetable pasta for main, all washed down with another local wine… or 2. Carb with carb I know but it all was gluten free so technically it’s ok, right?

I actually then fell asleep when I was in putting Alexander to bed and Louis and Aoife sat up for a bit watching some TV. A great day, full of activities. Someone needs to open a padel court in Derry! If the Simpson’s are reading this… pretty please!
