As is tradition with our final day of traveling, we chill out and relax by the beach all day. Today was no different in that Anna woke me up nice and early at 8am to get a good bed and make a last ditch effort to come home the colour of a nice brown tree.

From the early hours, we remained on the beach and relaxed. Except for the smoke in Athens, we experienced our first clouds of the trip. Usually the clear blue sky gives us no shelter from the sun, although today the sun kept disappearing behind the clouds – not that it worried me, we had run out of suncream.
Tanning, swimming and a pizza for lunch, it was almost 6pm when we finally gave up our beds and retired to our room. To be fair, our room was right behind us so it didn’t really make much difference. Louis was getting cranky with his lack of food and so he was hinting that we needed to go to town.

Vari beach is the nearest ‘settlement’ as I wouldn’t really call it a town. The beach is pretty much Greece’s answer to Benidorm and I was just lucky we had our own beach to ourselves. However, there was an area set aside for sport at this beach and during dinner, we were entertained by bat and ball games and beach volleyball. They were taking it so seriously that they high-fived after each point. Anna was wearing the wrong shorts so we couldn’t join in with the fun.
Another traditional spaghetti from Anna was accompanied by battered cod from me – they were mainly all seafood restaurants and I felt bad if we didn’t order some seafood to eat. We people watched all evening, and enjoyed watching a little boy filling up his bottle with sand. It really is so interesting how many different ways he tried it, eventually finding the best method.

Back at the hotel, we sat on our balcony whilst I gave Anna a brief overview of how the sun and moon works. I thought it was best if we did a visual demostration, and we spun round a chair. Anna was the sun of course because she’s the hottest, duh.

We finished our night with a cheeky skinny dip, excuse the pun. The fresh water up round your nether regions was the perfect way to end our last night in Greece – Delightful!
