Day 11 - Picnic & Winery

Today we had to find a garage to fix the car. Aoife was up and ringing local garages with most saying they didn’t have any appointments for a couple of weeks. She eventually found one who agreed to have a look at the car today so Aoife set off and headed into Margaret River to get the car sorted while Louis, Alexander and I stayed behind. I made a little picnic and Louis enjoyed a lazy morning playing and napping with Alexander.

After dropping the car off, Aoife got a taxi back to the house and collected some coffees and buns. We then all headed to the beach for a couple of hours, had our picnic lunch and waited for the garage to call to say the car was ready.

When they did, Aoife got a taxi to collect our new and improved car and we headed back to the house to freshen up and remove the sand from any unwanted places.

With our bum cheeks sand free we headed to a winery, Xanadu Wines. We weren’t fussed by this one, however we still bought a bottle, it would be rude not to.

On our way home, we tried to quickly call into Voyager Vineyard but unfortunately the lady said we didn’t have enough time as they closed in 15 minutes. Instead we walked around the gardens and I stole a spring onion from their vegetable patch to put into tonight’s Risotto.

We got back to the Airbnb just in time for happy hour in the bar beside us. Louis made good use of this and opted for 2 aperols every round. He must be thirsty!

Aoife made risotto for dinner, I put Alexander to bed and Louis lay on the sofa enjoying the effects of his many aperol spritz. Tv, Irish dairy milk, cuppa and bed. You know the craic by now.
