Everyone loves spending time with their one true love or special person, whether it be seeing them after school or moving into a house together. But realistically, how much time do you spend together? You split up to go to school or work, to see your friends or have a night out with ‘the lads’. Maybe you go on holiday for a week or two and increase your quality time together, but have you ever spent 24hrs together day after day, night after night with them? I’m planning to be with my girlfriend for 50 days, that’s 1200hrs. Fun, right?
For nearly 7 weeks, I will be travelling the entirety of Europe, using interrail passes, boats, planes and buses, staying in hostels, hotels, apartments and some friends all with my one true love…It’s the first time we have even been on holiday together, yet alone travelling for this long, and the amount of stress that occurs during internal travelling. Lots of people before we left thought we couldn’t do it; “”You’ll want to come home after a week”, “You’ll break up with each other”, “You’ll always argue and hate each other”… well, although I don’t know if this is true or not yet, I was hopeful of this trip being successful, and adamant that I could prove everyone wrong. Therefore, with this blog, and logging these details of our entire journey, you can get an insight into the experiences we shared together, the stressful times, the funny moments and an answer to the question my blog asks – can you travel 1200 hours with your girlfriend, and still remain sane…even alive?
P.s. If you would like to know any details about where we stayed or companies we used, I’ll be happy to help (if I can remember).
